-Bizarro!-

For eons (upon eons!), people have been going into bookstores and video stores looking for the weird stuff. To them, "weird stuff" is a genre, just like horror or science fiction. But it has never been given an official name before, until now…

BIZARRO

a genre of film and literature.

You already know Bizarro. You've seen it in films by David Lynch (Eraserhead,
Lost Highway), Jodorowsky (El Topo, Fando & Lis), Svankmajer (Alice, Conspirators of Pleasure), Takashi Miike (Gozu, Vistor Q) and even trash-auteurs such as Lloyd Kaufman (Tromeo and Juliet) and John Waters (Desparate Living). It's that surreal, absurd, fucked-up stuff that is usually referred to as Cult because people don't know what else to call it. Not many people hear about the authors who write this kind of stuff. But recently, there has been an uprising of Bizarro in the literary world, centered around the online community Bizarro Central.
